ON SALE - Lake Tawar Coffee from Sumatra Jagong Village 250g
Jagong Village Coffee is grown by the twenty-five members of the Jagong Village Cooperative in the Sumatran district of Central Aceh. The coffee is grown at 1600 metres, so it has good altitude, and uses the water from the nearby Lake Tawar in it's washing and growing. Interestingly, this coffee is grown as a kind of side crop, grown among other crops of cabbages, red beans, and chilis in small-hold farms. It is semi-washed and then dried on the patios until they reach their deep green colour.
The coffee is sweet with just a tang, and is wonderful in most roasts, save vey dark French or Italian. It is a mellow and sweet taste, and is really good with milk. For an intense experience, it is also a really nice macchiato.
We use 250g of green beans, but the resultant weight of the roasted beans varies depending on roast, humidity, and some other weird factors that are somewhat unpredictable, but means the coffee you receive will be somewhere between 200g and 215g, though maybe a couple of grams more or less than that.
